Hannah Blythyn, Member of the Senedd for Delyn, is encouraging people across North Wales to celebrate and support the small and independent businesses that remain the backbone of local communities this Small Business Saturday.
Hannah Blythyn MS said:
“Small businesses and shops are the lifeblood of our town centres and communities – they bring people together, provide jobs and contribute so much to our local economy.
“From local cafés and clothing stores to bookshops and butchers, these businesses offer far more than just products or services, they help shape our towns and the places we call home.
“That’s why I’ll always champion our small businesses here in North Wales. This Small Business Saturday, if you’re just doing some Christmas shopping or planning a weekly shop, please join me in choosing to shop local and support the brilliant independent businesses right on our doorstep.”
Since being elected, Hannah Blythyn MS has supported local businesses and promoted the achievements of organisations across the constituency.
Recently, the Member of the Senedd has been involved in setting up businesses forums in communities like Holywell to listen to the needs and concerns of the business community and helping to facilitate a dialogue between shop owners and representatives such as the Police and Crime Commissioner and the local authority.
Hannah Blythyn added:
“We are lucky to have such dynamic and hardworking local traders here in Flintshire and across North Wales. Small Business Saturday is a great reminder of the role they play in our local economy, but they deserve our support all year round.
“Shopping local is one of the simplest and most powerful ways we can all make a difference.”
Small Business Saturday also highlights the significant support the Welsh Government provides to SMEs across Wales, ensuring they can grow, innovate and drive local economic resilience.
Across North East Wales, local firms are benefitting from business rates relief and council-run grants. With programmes such as Business Wales, the Welsh Government has helped businesses access finance and upskill staff.
