Hannah Blythyn MS delivers sixth year of Christmas Cheer Boxes across Delyn

13/12/2025

Hannah Blythyn MS has once again delivered festive support to families across Delyn with almost 200 ‘Christmas Cheer Boxes’ distributed through 21 local schools and community organisations.

Now in its sixth year, the initiative has grown from the Christmas hampers first launched in 2020 and continues to provide families with a box of seasonal treats – including chocolates, mince pies, biscuits, Christmas puddings, cheese and crackers.

This year’s Christmas Cheer Boxes have once again been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Roberts Group in Flint, the main sponsor for all five years of the campaign. The team at Roberts Group also assisted with packing and deliveries, with boxes kindly supplied by Smurfit Westrock in Mold.

Hannah Blythyn MS said:

“Over the last six years, the Christmas Cheer initiative has grown from a response to the Covid pandemic to become a real community effort and something I’ve been incredibly proud to continue for the people of Delyn.

With the ongoing pressures families face, from rising costs to what has been a difficult year for many, these small festive packages are a way of spreading a little goodwill and literally bringing a bit of cheer.

I would like to thank the Roberts Group for their continued generosity, to Smurfit Westrock for providing the boxes, and to the 21 local schools and community groups helping ensure the boxes reach families who will really appreciate them.”

Boxes have been distributed through a range of schools and community organisations, including Walk & Talk Today in Ffynnongroyw, The Table in Holywell and Flint, River Dee Community Church, Parkfields Community Centre in Mold and others across the constituency.

Nick Roberts, Managing Director of the Roberts Group, said:

“The Roberts Group is pleased to support Hannah’s Christmas Cheer Boxes for the sixth consecutive year.

This initiative has become a valued tradition within our organisation, and we are proud to contribute to bringing joy to families in need within our local community during the festive season.”
